What is the meaning of visual communication design?

visual communication design

Visual communication design (previously graphic design) is a creative process that blends the visual arts and technology to express ideas at their most fundamental level. It starts with a message translated into visual communication that goes beyond words and pictures in the hands of a skilled designer. The graphic communication designer designs and supervises the production of visuals intended to inform, educate, persuade, and even entertain a specific audience by regulating color, text, movement, symbols, and images. Visual communication uses visual components such as signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, industrial design, advertising, animation, and electronic resources to transmit ideas and information. When it comes to visual aspects in modern society, there are numerous characteristics: objects, models, graphs, diagrams, maps, and images. Color, Shape, Tones, Texture, Figure-Ground, Balance, and hierarchies are the seven components of visual communication and various features and aspects.

Each of these traits, aspects, and components has a significant impact on our daily life. Visual communication has a specialized purpose in areas like Social Media, Culture, Politics, Economics, and Science. Visual elements have a variety of purposes and ways of conveying information when examining these diverse characteristics. All visual aids that express a message are used in commercials, teaching and learning, and speeches and presentations. The following are some of the most commonly used visual aids: Handouts, Video Excerpts, Projection Equipment, and Computer-Assisted Presentations. Chalkboard or Whiteboard, Poster Board, Handouts, Poster Board, and Computer-Assisted Presentations. One of the most successful ways to communicate is through social media. Through social media platforms, the combination of text and visuals delivers messages faster and more simply. Due to the internet connectivity need and specific constraints on the amount of text and image size, there may be limited access. With the emergence of YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat, there has been a shift toward more visual imagery, despite the possible negative. Facebook and Twitter have followed suit in the rise of these platforms, incorporating more visual pictures into their platforms in addition to written messages. Graphic images can be utilized in two ways: to provide further explanation for spoken or written information or to establish unique meaning.
